Ordering Your Credit Reports

Why do I need to order my credit reports?
Part of the process for filing bankruptcy will include ordering your credit reports in order to ensure all of the relevant accounts will be filed in the bankruptcy. There are three ways to order your credit reports: by phone, by internet, or by mail. Please note: you must order credit reports from all three companies, as information can vary from one report to another.
Ordering your credit reports is free.

By Phone:
Call 877-322-8228. Be sure to follow all the prompts to order copies of ALL THREE of your FREE credit reports. This is an automated system; you will not speak with a live person. You may be prompted to pay to receive your credit score. You DO NOT need your credit score, and can bypass this information.

By Internet:
www.annualcreditreport.com. Be sure to follow the prompts to order copies of ALL THREE of your FREE credit reports. Please note: Because of the potential threat of Identity Theft, you will be prompted to answer a few security questions.

By Mail:
If for some reason you do not receive your credit reports after trying to order them either by phone or over the internet, you will need to send letters to all three of the credit bureaus listed below.

Experian
PO Box 2002 Allen, TX 75013

Equifax
PO Box 105873 Atlanta, GA 30348

Transunion
PO Box 1000 Chester, PA 19022

What You Will Need:
When ordering your credit reports by phone, internet or mail, you will be asked to provide your Name, Current Address, Previous Address if you have been at your current address for less than two years, Social Security Number, and Date of Birth. In addition, send along a copy of identification such as your driver’s license for security purposes.
